Cooking Outdoors In A Keystone RV

The latest thing in home improvement these days seem to be many families taking traditional indoor activities and moving them outdoors. One example of this is the growing popularity of outdoor kitchens. More and more people are adding outdoor living spaces to their homes and outdoor kitchens have become the most popular addition by far.

Campers and RV enthusiasts have known about this for years. If you have ever cooked over an open fire then you know that food just seems to taste better when prepared and eaten outdoors. There is nothing better than the smell of eggs and bacon and hot coffee in the early morning. As a former Boy Scout, it was even better when a few ashes got in the food. I’m just saying. However, many have never experienced the joy of preparing and eating an outdoor feast with or with out the ashes of an open fire.

Well the folks at Keystone RVs have gone one better by offering an option of a complete outdoor kitchen on many of their travel trailer and fifth wheel models. It is called the “Tailgator Package.” What makes this feature so neat is it has a complete kitchen including a sink with hot and cold running water, a refrigerator and two-burner cook top. There are also a lot of built-in cabinets and drawers along with a solid surface counter top that makes food preparation easy and clean. The cook top swings out to the side with an LP gas connection that plugs directly into the trailers LP system for ease of use. The refrigerator is large enough to accommodate all your cold storage food as well any beverages you care to include. This simple system is designed to make food prep as easy and efficient as cooking at home.

I know some may be thinking that when it rains the outdoor kitchen is useless. Well, Keystone has got you covered there too, literally. Each Tailgator Package packs up neat and tight and is enclosed with an exterior door that is raised and lowered by hydraulic supports. That means that not only will you be able to stabilize the door when it is open in the wind but will also keep the rain off while you are cooking. There is plenty of room under the shelter of the door for two or more people to stand and prepare food so no one will feel crowded. This is just one of the great features you will find even in the lesser priced Keystone RV models.

The reason Keystone goes to such lengths for the regular RV enthusiast is their desire to make camping as easy as possible for everyone to enjoy. This is one of the main reasons why Keystone RVs are the number one selling RV in the country. Check one out at your local Keystone RV dealer today. You will be impressed.

Keystone RV, The Best Vacation Value

Keystone RV is the largest manufacturer of towable recreational vehicles in the world. With an RV to fit every budget, Keystone provides the easiest and most economical way to truly enjoy retirement or just take a fun family vacation.

As the baby boomers retire, Keystone RV’s has seen an upsurge in sales. There is nothing that measures up to the flexibility and independence for most people than enjoying the open road in a Keystone Recreational Vehicle (RV). What you save on hotel costs alone will often pay for the cost of your RV and there is a lot to be said for being able to take your hotel room with you wherever you go.

This type of travel gives RV owners significant cost savings. You can save an enormous amount of money by dining in your RV compared to eating in restaurants every day and there are no hotel rooms to book. When you are parked, you can unhook your truck or SUV from your fifth wheel or travel trailer which saves you from having to find a car to rent. For those in motor homes, many travelers will tow a vehicle behind them.

When considering the purchase of a Keystone RV, you will be faced with three choices;

  1. a fifth wheel which is pulled by a pick up truck and attaches to a hitch inside the truck box,
  2. a travel trailer which is usually pulled by a truck with a rear hitch,
  3. or a toy hauler which allows you to take extra toys along such as ATV’s or even motorcycles.

All three types of RV’s have their pros and cons and each point will need to be considered based upon your needs and your budget. One of the considerations you must take into account in the RV lifestyle is the price of gas. It is still more economical, however, than eating in restaurants or staying in hotels every night.

Traveling in a Keystone RV is often a good choice for those who want to travel to different locations; however, it may be less suited to those who visit the same location year after year.

The easy care lifestyle and the freedom of the open road is what many RV owners love the most. It is a great adventure stopping at various parks along the way as you travel across the country. You can stay day or as long as you want at a particular location.

The fact that Walmart provides free camping on their parking lots is well known in the RV community. In most states, you are allowed to camp in a Walmart’s parking lot for as long as you like. I am sure you have seen Keystone RV’s lined up in Walmart’s parking lot at least on one occasion. Both Walmart and the traveler wins in this situation. The traveler has a well-lit place to camp for the night, at no cost, and Walmart receives income from those RV owners who frequent the store. Recently however, there has been an uproar by some campground owners against Walmart’s free camping policy. However, before you decide to stay a week or more at Walmart, you might want to check with the local Chamber of Commerce first.

The Freedom of Traveling In a Keystone RV

One of the great joys of my childhood was camping with my family. We would go all over the country and have so much fun and build so many great family memories that my brothers and I still talk about today.

The hardest part of camping however was the set up and teardown. We camped in tents and cooked over open fires. It was hard work at times, especially during bad weather. But it was always fun.

Then one day my dad bought a tent trailer and we were in hog heaven. It was so much easier to go on a trip, but it was still a lot of work setting up and tearing down. After two or three years, we then got a travel trailer and it changed our camping lives.

We kept the RV loaded with supplies and all our gear and we were able to go camping over a weekend at a moments notice. Pulling into the campground all we had to do was put the stabilizer jacks down and we were set up. We had a real stove to cook with, a refrigerator to keep our food cold and an air conditioner. Growing up in the Texas, having A/C was the greatest thing about our travel trailer.

We would travel from Big Bend to Yellowstone, from Corpus Christi to Orlando, stop when we wanted and go where we pleased. Eventually after my parents retired, they sold their house bought a Class A Motor Home and went full-time. I envied the freedom they had so much.

I don’t have that type of freedom as of yet, but I have owned several RVs; from a pop-up to a Keystone 5th wheel. My family and I now have the freedom to travel wherever we want and do whatever we please as well. Now that we have grandkids to take along, it is even more fun.

Not everyone will retire to full-time RVing, but it couldn’t hurt. The freedom that owning a Keystone RV provides is like nothing else I can think of. We go on great vacations, are able to see the sights of this great country and take all the comforts of home with us. Even with the price of fuel today, we still spend less money than if we were to fly or stay in hotels. All while sleeping in our own beds. It doesn’t get any better than that.

If you want to create some great family memories, bring you family together like nothing else is able to do and do it on a budget, then you need to experience the freedom of owning your own Keystone RV. Find a good Keystone RV Dealer in your area, look at the amenities they offer and buy one. I promise you will love it.

Keystone has an RV for every budget – from simple travel trailers you can pull with a mini-van to luxury fifth wheels. They will save you money both now and later. You and your family will love the freedom of traveling and camping and you will build family memories your kids will still be talking about 30 years from now.

3 Reasons Keystone Outback is the Best

There are a lot of travel trailers on the market today and they all have good features. However, according to RVIA, the Keystone Outback is the #1 mid priced selling travel trailer in the country. This article will give you three reasons why that is.

  1. Towability. With 1 ½” box welded aluminum frame and a fully laminated fiberglass sidewall, The Outback by Keystone is the lite-weight giant of the RV industry. The construction features combined with the one piece enclosed and heated under-belly means that Outback is the most aerodynamic RV on the road. This translates into the fact that even the largest Outback Travel Trailer can be towed safely by your standard half ton pickup or full size SUV. The Keystone Outback is truly the easiest towing travel trailer in the country.
  2. Interior. There is not another travel trailer in this class that offers the luxury of LCD TVs, real wood cabinets, flush floor slide-outs and optional King Sized Beds. Every Outback is equipped with a full kitchen and so much storage you will never run out of room. Even the sofa sleeper is a full-sized air mattress so your guest will not have to sleep with that support bar in their back. Combined with the u-shaped dinette, Outback provides much more comfort and living space than all other trailers in its class. The Keystone Outback is the most livable lite weight RV you can own. It’s just that simple.
  3. Affordability. To be honest, there are cheaper trailers out there. However, none of those other trailers have the features of the Keystone Outback. Other manufacturers save money by scrimping on the construction and interior luxuries and claim to be just as good as the Outback. The fact is pound for pound and dollar for dollar, they just cannot compete. When you compare apples to apples in terms of construction, aerodynamics and interior luxuries, there is no other travel trailer on the road that you can pull with a half ton vehicle that offers the amenities of the Outback. It is truly an affordable, lite-weight travel trailer for every family and budget. But don’t just take my word for it, stop your local Keystone Outback RV Dealer and see for yourself why the Outback is number one and will stay there for many years to come.
